- Grow Amaryllis. These stunning flowers add a burst of fresh color and life to your home, and come in a variety of reds, whites, pinks, and greens. You can purchase bulbs or plants ready to bloom.
- Add some holly jolliness. Hollies are perfect for the holidays, with their vivid red berries and glossy green leaves, and afterward, you can plant them as a hedge in a sunny area of your yard.
- Feed the birds. You may not be able to grow flowers outdoors, but you’ll love seeing these charming little visitors outside of the window on a cold winter’s day. Use a spicy birdseed mix to prevent squirrels from looting the feeder.
- Add mulch. After the first frost, add 2 inches of pine straw, pine bark mulch, or fallen leaves (chop them up with a lawn mower first).
