- Don’t drain the water. The most important thing you can do for your pool actually starts in the winter – don’t drain the water unless you absolutely must.
- Add the proper chemicals to your pool and take the time to thoroughly clean everything. That means your filtration system and baskets and removing plugs that you put in place during the winter. Keep the pool covered during the cleaning process, especially if you live in a place where winter weather is still a concern.
- Have your pool checked by a professional to make sure it’s safe. You can do most of the work yourself, but having a pro do a quick check is always ideal.
