- Cover your patio. You can install a permanent, year round structure such as a pergola, or a seasonal collapsible canopy with hanging drapery panels. Either of these will help reduce the wind chill considerably.
- Build a fire pit. Nothing warms up a patio more than a fire pit or fireplace with good company gathering around. Not only will the flames keep the chill away, they will provide an ambient glow that always warms the heart and hearth.
- Install heat lamps. If you don’t want a fireplace, consider the strategic placement of a heat lamp or two. These inexpensive accessories are easy to set-up. They run on propane and generate plenty of heat regardless of the surrounding temperature.
